What I do

  • Full supply and return duct rough-ins
  • Bathroom, kitchen, and dryer exhaust ducting
  • HRV/ERV supply and exhaust ducting
  • Custom fabrication for the home's design
  • Coordination with builders and other trades

Common problems I fix

  • Ventilation planned late and squeezed in
  • Duct routes that clash with framing or other trades
  • Undersized systems that disappoint after move-in
  • Exhaust and fresh-air terminations placed poorly

Good-fit projects

  • Custom and spec home builds
  • Builder and general-contractor partnerships
  • Energy-efficient homes needing HRV/ERV
  • Multi-bathroom and open-plan homes

In a new home, the ventilation system should be planned with the house, not squeezed in at the end. I rough in and install complete duct and ventilation systems for new construction, supply, return, exhaust, and HRV/ERV ducting, working alongside builders and the other trades.

Working with builders on new homes

I partner with builders and general contractors to rough in the duct and ventilation systems for custom and spec homes. Coming in early means duct routes are planned around the framing, plumbing, and electrical instead of fighting them.

When ventilation should be planned in a build

At the design and framing stage. Planning supply and return routes, bathroom and kitchen exhaust points, and HRV/ERV layout before the framing closes lets each part be sized and routed correctly. Ventilation added late is the kind that disappoints after move-in.

A complete system for the home

A new home needs more than supply ducting: it needs balanced returns, exhaust for every wet room, and, in tightly built homes, an HRV or ERV with its own ducting. I fabricate and install the whole system to suit the home’s design.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work with builders and general contractors on new homes?

Yes. I rough in and install the duct and ventilation systems for new homes and coordinate with the builder and the other trades so the duct routes are planned early and don't clash with framing, plumbing, or electrical.

When in a new build should ventilation be planned?

Early, at the design and framing stage, not after. Planning duct routes, exhaust points, and HRV/ERV layout before framing closes lets the system be sized and routed properly instead of squeezed into whatever space is left.
